Delbert "Del" Dwight Tooley, 53, cherished son, husband, father and grandfather, brother and friend, was called to his heavenly home to be with the Lord on September 9, 2009.
Del was born in Suffolk on February 4, 1956. He was preceeded in death by his first wife, Alice Faye Adams Tooley. Left to cherish his memory is his parents, Lawrence and Christine Tooley; his wife of two years, Anne Hurst Tooley; his sons, Christopher "Chris" Tooley and spouse, Marlene Tooley and Nicholas Tooley; one grandchild, Aiden Tooley; siblings and spouses: Larry and Yvonne Tooley, Lynda and Lloyd Busching, James and Lea Anne Tooley, David W. Tooley, Brenda K. Tooley; brothers-in-law and wife, John and Teresa Hurst, numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was a deacon and member of Westminister Reformed Presbyterian Church. He also served in the church on numerous committees. Del worked as a Supervisor in Code 139 at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard for 38 years. He was also a former Scout Leader in the Boy Scouts.
His love for God and his family were always steadfast in his life.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Westminister Reformed Presbyterian Church officiated by Rev. Ruffin Alphin. Burial will follow in Holland Cemetery. Friends may join the family at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk on Monday evening from 7 – 8 p.m. for visitation.
