Deborah Lynn Scott was born on March 11, 1966 in Folkston, GA to Claretha Taylor and the late Willie B. Taylor. Family and friends affectionately called her, "Debbie". She was educated in the public school system of Charlton County, graduating in the Class of 1984. She furthered her education at FCCJ and Ware TECH, she studied computer science.
Debbie was a devoted, committed, faithful and loving wife of 29 years to Louis Valentino Scott. She was her husband's biggest cheerleader, best friend and his HERO. They were SOULMATES! She was an AWESOME MOM to their son, Louis Valentino Scott, Jr. She was a strong supporter of her husband's US Navy career of 37 years. Her husband is forever grateful for her dedication and commitment in support of his military career. Debbie was active in her community and very generous to those she saw in need of help. The kindness and thoughtfulness she showed and gave to others will never be forgotten. She was a member of St. Mathew Baptist Church where she grew up as a child. Employed as a Claims Advocate for Anthem, a subsidiary of Blue Cross and Blue Shield for over 25 years. Debbie was a dependable employee, well respected and loved by everyone in the Anthem organization.
Deborah Lynn Scott, a native of Folkston, GA and resident of Chesapeake, VA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 9, 2019 due to injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.
Those left to harbor their most fond memories of Debbie are her loving and devoted husband, Louis Valentino Scott, Sr and their only child, Louis, Jr. both of Chesapeake, VA; her loving mother, Claretha Taylor of Hilliard, FL; her sister, Elizabeth Taylor of Hilliard, FL; her brothers, Alvin G. Taylor and Collaus Taylor (Brenda) both of Waycross, GA; her father in law and mother in law, Bishop John Wesley Scott and Pearlie Mae Scott of Folkston, GA; her sister in law, Teresa Redden of Temple Hill, MD; her brothers in law, John "Myros" Scott of Jacksonville, FL, Vellie Scott (Shawn) of Ft. Washington, MD, Christopher Jerome Scott (Terry) of Jacksonville, FL and John "Alexander" Scott (Sabrina) of Chester, VA; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.
Deborah's graveside service will be 2:15 pm, Thursday, December 5, 2019 in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. Her procession will leave at 2:00 pm from Parr Funeral Home & Crematory.
