Obituary

Deborah Sue Davenport Turner went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 7, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Floyd Turner. She was the oldest of four kids which include Donna Rogers and husband Don, Worth M. Davenport, Jr. "Sonny", and Shannon Ward and husband Jerry. She is predeceased by her parents Worth M. Davenport, Sr. and Dorothy Davenport, and infant son, Jason Wayne Turner.

Debbie loved her many nieces and nephews, Sheree Marlin and husband, Dale, Meredith Taylor and husband Chip, Kim Burnett and husband Douglas, Phillip Turner and wife, Wendy, Kevin Paul and wife, Kathleen, Kenny Paul and wife, Beth. She shared a special bond with her two youngest nephews Coty and Jacob Ward.

Debbie was a native of Suffolk and a graduate of Forest Glen High School Class of 1971. She retired from the City of Suffolk. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church.

Debbie enjoyed cooking for family and friends, flower arranging, and playing Dominoes. She took pleasure in doing many activities within her church.

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 11, 2010 at First Baptist Church at 11 a.m. with Dr. Bryan Ray and Rev. Charles Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family Sunday night from 5-6 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA and other times at the residence of Shannon and Jerry Ward.
