David Wallace "D-Daddy" or "Padre" Hirst, 80, passed away April 2, 2017. He was the son of the late Virginia Hirst Dutton and Harry Miles Hirst. He is predeceased by his wife, Patricia Mullis Hirst and son, Harry Hirst. He retired from North Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance and was a member of Harvest Fellowship Baptist Church, Smithfield, VA. He was also a member of the Oak Island Masonic Lodge #758, Brunswick Co. Shrine Club, Brunswick Co. Fishing Club and an avid fan of NASCAR, drag racing and car shows.

D-Daddy is survived by daughters, Debbie Brady and Cindy Owens (Marcus); sons, David Hirst ( Myra) and Mike Hirst (Susan); grandchildren, Brian Hirst, Stephanie Deluca (Sam), Jonathan Hirst (Amy), James Hirst (Sarah), Danielle Brady (Scott), Hunter Brady and Laura Kate Hirst; and great grandsons, Bryson and Bentley Hirst.

Services will be held Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 2 PM in Harvest Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Green officiating.
