David Franklin Harrup, 58, passed away July 28, 2013. He was born in North Carolina the son of Ruth E. Wood and the late David G. Harrup. David was a U.S. Marine veteran having served during Vietnam. He worked as a electrician for Newport News Shipyard.

David is survived by his wife of 20 years, Ursel E. Harrup; mother and step father, Ruth and Donald Wood; daughters, Marsha Martin and Tracey Harrup; grandchildren, C.J. and William Martin; sister, Gwen Cross; brothers, Dennis Harrup and Kevin Wood.

A Celebration of Life Service with military honors will be held Sunday, August 4, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Donald Wood officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Veteran Cemetery.
