On May 26, 2012, God dispatched an Angel to earth to touch and gently beckon David Lawrence Griffin to come home. David has worked 22 years as Sr. Control Specialist for the Dominion Power Surry Power Station.

David is survived by his wife Kimberly S. Cowser-Griffin; three children Elizabeth Haunani Griffin, James Joseph Griffin, III, and Gloria Desiree Griffin; cousin Iris Orczek; and canine companions Harley and Bubba.

A funeral service with military honors will be held Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 1 p.m. at New Harvest Church in Surry, VA with Pastor Gerry Shannon officiating. Friends may join the family one hour prior to the service for a time of visitation at the church. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran Cemetery.
