Dan Gwaltney Delk, 80 years old of Bethlehem Court passed away February 23, 2011. He was born in Smithfield, VA the son of the late Alfred M. Delk and Gladys G. Delk Seward. Dan was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War. After returning home he began farming. He later went on to retire after 37 years from American General as an insurance agent.

Dan is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marie Scott Delk; daughter, Julie Renea Delk; son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Christine Delk all of Suffolk; grandchildren, Christopher and Noah Delk; sister, Nancy Delk Hall of Surry, VA.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA with Rev. Tommy Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Mill Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family Friday night from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
