Dan Stanley
Clements, Sr.
February 8, 1950 – July 9, 2021
Dan Stanley Clements, Sr., of Suffolk, Virginia passed away on July 9, 2021 after many years of heart disease. He was predeceased by his parents, Sallie Burns Clements and Nat Clements; brothers, David and William "Billy" Clements; daughter-in-law, Mary Gebnar Clements and father and mother-in-law, Robert and Virginia Crumpler. Dan is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cindy Crumpler Clements; daughter, Lisa Clements Lucas; sons, Dan Clements, Jr. (Stephanie), Jesse Clements (Helen), Derek Clements (Erika); grandsons, Tommy Lucas (Austin), Austin Clements, Peyton Clements, Jacob Clements, Charlie Clements, Dan "Trace" Clements III; granddaughter, Kennedy Clements; great granddaughter, Amelia Lucas; sister, Delores "Dee Dee" Clements Darden (Tommy), and many other loving family members and friends.
Dan graduated in 1968 from John Yeates High School. He retired as a millwright and toolroom mechanic from Union Camp Corporation and International Paper after 37 years. Dan lived a full life. He was exceptionally proud of his family and never missed an opportunity to brag on his children and grandchildren. Winter was undoubtedly Dan's favorite season. He loved decorating for Christmas, being one of Santa's favorite helpers and then heading off to the ski slopes as often as possible.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2021 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, VA 23434. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home with Reverend Eileen Walsh officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dan's memory to Special Olympics – Area 29 c/o Diann Holt, 5117 Stratford Drive, Suffolk, VA 23435.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ed Lynch, Dr. David Eich and Dr. Mokhtar Morgan for their many years of dedicated health care. They would also like to thank Sentara Hospice (Tammy, Judy and other staff) for their compassion and comforting care they provided Dan in his home.
