Daisy Ward Bryant Maxey, age 102, of Suffolk, VA passed away on March 13, 2009. A native of Bladenboro, NC she was the daughter of the late Luther and Mary Elizabeth Hester Ward. She was also predeceased by her first husband, Marvin Hinton Bryant; her second husband, Charles Whittington Maxey; a daughter, Gloria Jean Bryant Wallace and husband, Larry Wayne Wallace; a son, Graham Hinton Bryant; a son-in-law, L. A. Pair; great grandson, Shawn Bryant; brothers, Simmie Ward and Edwin Ward.

She is survived by her daughter, Christine Bryant Pair; grandchildren, Deborah P. Ummels (Dan), Michael A. Pair, Graham H. Bryant, L. Susan Bryant Keenan (Les) and George Warren Wallace; great grandchildren, Christopher Bryant, Laurie Danielle Ummels and Joshua Wallace.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 16, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Wood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids, NC., with Rev. Jamie Jenkins officiating.
