Cynthia Lou
Adams Moegenberg
January 29, 1956 – July 11, 2022
On Monday, July 11, 2022, Cynthia Adams Moegenberg, 66, passed away peacefully at her home following a brief illness, surrounded by her beloved husband of 49 years, and her four children.
A native of the City of Suffolk, Virginia, Cynthia was the youngest daughter of the late Owen Adams and Akra Adams Taylor, she is predeceased by her dear brothers, Beverly, Jerry, and Bobby Adams. Left to cherish her memory is her husband: Bruce Moegenberg, her four children: Matthew Moegenberg (Katie), Nicholas Moegenberg (Nicole), Candice Moegenberg, and Randah Gaitan (Tim), grandchildren: Travis, Joseph, Griffin, Emma, Ellie, Luke, Tristan, Catherine, and Colt, and her dear sisters: Jean Farmer, Glenda Dawson, and Diane Stallworth, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In accordance with her nature, Cynthia fulfilled her calling by caring for and nurturing those in need through nursing. She was called to nursing after the birth of her sons, and worked tirelessly in the profession for over 35 years. The majority of her nursing career was in long-term care, which requires emotional intelligence and discretion to help patients and families through the most difficult times of their lives. Through her constant love and support for all of those around her, she provided mentorship and positively affected the lives of many of her colleagues.
Cynthia was a caring constant in the neighborhood where she raised her children; she made a profound impact in the lives of her children's friends, who became family. They all thought of her as a trusted voice and positive influence in their lives, returning periodically to seek guidance in the major events of life. She was always quick to lend a shoulder to cry on or a caring ear to listen, and made a positive dent in the fabric of all the lives she touched.
The joy of her life was her nine grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as "Nina." If her house was full, so was her heart.
