Cocco Brooks
February 16, 1949 – September 25, 2018
Constance "Connie" C. Brooks, 69, passed away September 25, 2018. She was born in Wilmington, DE the daughter of the late Armand Francis Cocco, Sr. and Anna May Zebley Cocco. Connie received her Associate Degree from Paul D. Camp Community College and went on to receive her Bachelor Degree from Christopher Newport University. She worked as a credentialing coordinator for Emergency Physicians of Tidewater, PLC. While living in Delaware she was the head of the attachés in the Delaware State Senate. Connie was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild, Choir, taught Sunday School and helped with VBS. She was also a member of Suffolk's Red Hat Society, Suffolk Sister Cities, and served as an essay judge for the local DAR Chapter. In her earlier years, she was very active in her children's school life serving in every aspect as homeroom mother to serving in every aspect of the PTA throughout Kilby Shores Elementary School and Suffolk High School. She also served for numerous years as chairman for local Boy Scout and Girl Scout Clubs.
Connie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michele B. Kinder (Kyle); sons and daughters-in-law, Robert R. Brooks, III (Rachele), Joseph A. Brooks (Patricia); grandchildren, Lexie and Jake, Joey, Gracie and Noah, and Mason and Adelaide; brothers and sister-in-law, John Cocco, II, and Armand "Andy" Cocco, Jr. (Nancy); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 213 N. Main Street, Suffolk, VA 23434 with Rev. Dr. Keith R. Emerson officiating. Friends may join the family Friday night for a time of visitation from 6-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory. The burial will take place Monday, October 1, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at the Head of Christiana Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Newark, DE. It was Connie's request that the family would give special thanks to her family members, her St. Paul's Church Family, close friends, neighbors, children's friends, the staff at the Obici Outpatient Infusion Center, and the staff of 1foot 2 foot and Remedies who were by her side during her battle.
