Clyde Edwin Carter, 89, passed away December 9, 2012. He was born in Norfolk, VA the son of the late Mable and Soloman Carter. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during WWII. He later went on to work and retire from the Naval Air Station as a Automobile Mechanic. His greatest joys in life were watching sports especially college basketball and refurbishing old things back to new.
Clyde is survived by his children and their spouses, Cary E. and Elaine Carter of Suffolk, Faye and Larry Morrison of Willow Springs, NC, Dennis C. and Emeline Carter of Chesapeake, Tim D. and Marlene Carter of Suffolk, and Bert E. and Candy Carter of South Mills, NC; 18 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and brother, Ed Carter, 87, of Chesapeake.
A graveside memorial service will be held Friday, December 14, 2012 at 12 noon at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran Cemetery with military honors. Following the service friends may join the family at the residence of Cary and Elaine Carter. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
