Clifton Morgan Carr, 71, went to be with the Lord on September 25, 2021.  He was born in Suffolk, VA the son of the late Clifton Spivey Carr and Juanita Morgan Nance.  He was predeceased by his loving wife of 42 years, Linda Overman Carr.  Morgan was a United States Army veteran having served in Vietnam defending our freedoms, he was a true patriot.  He retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a General Foreman and was an establishing business partner of Carr Construction.  He was a faithful follower of Jesus and a longtime member of Holy Neck Christian Church and the Men's Bible Class.  He served as a Deacon, President of the Men's Fellowship, and was a Chairman on various committees throughout the church.  Recently, he became a member of Southside Baptist Church and was an active member of his Life Group.  At Southside, he served as a cook for the Wednesday evening meal ministry, Outdoorsman Ministry and was a faithful team member of the MenReady Discipleship Team.  He was also a member of the Holy Neck Ruritan Club, VFW Post #4411; Meals on Wheels, Holland Athletic Association, and Lakeland Booster Club.

Morgan is survived by his wife, Delorse "Dee" Barnett Carr; daughter, Natalie Ann Friedman; son, Clifton Nathan Carr (Allison), grandchildren, Timmy Baldwin, John Baldwin, Drew Carr, Justin Carr, Kayla Carr, and Morgan Friedman; sister, Adele Copeland (Benny); brother, Maxie Nance; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Morgan was affectionately known as "G-Daddy" and "Big Biscuit" and those who knew him delighted in his warm smile, big bear hugs and delicious food.  His mentorship and wisdom to others was a gift that will continue to glorify God for generations.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church with Pastor Fred Gray officiating.  A time of visitation will be held following the service at the church and other times at the residence of Nathan and Allison Carr.  The family will receive guests in the garage where G-Daddy loved to cook, serve, and gather.  The family will hold a private burial at Holly Lawn Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Southside Baptist Church, memo Morgan Carr Memorial Fund, www.sbcsuffolk.org.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
