Clayton Heber Pope, 75, of Suffolk, VA passed away February 5, 2009. He was born in Southampton County the son of the late Mary and Heber Pope. He was predeceased by his sisters, Thelma, Beatrice, and Josephine. Clayton retired as a Yard Supervisor and Truck Driver for Webster Brick and Doyle Brick. He enjoyed spending his mornings being a part of the Hardee's Breakfast Club.

Clayton is survived by his wife of 53 years, Daisy Bell Carr Pope of Suffolk, VA; daughter and son-in-law, Helen Marie Pope Griffin and Larry C. Griffin of Suffolk, VA; sons and daughters-in-law, Clayton H. Pope, Jr. and Laura P. Pope of Standardsville, VA, Gary Ray and Judy A. Pope, Ronald Glen and Karen V. Pope, Samuel Todd Pope, Sr. and Lisa B. Pope all of Suffolk, VA; grandchildren and spouses, Karen (Chris), Kimberly (Brian), Amy (Jon), Jason, Todd Jr. (Amy), Tommy, Erin, Andrew, Daniel, Amanda (Chris), Timmy, Samantha, and Mattie; great grandchildren, Erin Elizabeth, Emmy, Brooklyn, Cheyenne, and Ayden; brother and sister-in-law, Robert Earl and Sarah Pope of Avonia, VA.

A graveside service will be held Monday, February 9, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Western Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Byron McCreary and Rev. Lisa Blackmonson officiating. Friends may join the family Sunday night from 5-6 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA and other times at the residence.
