Claudette Johnson Bowman, 78, passed away April 29, 2021. She was born in Welch, West Virginia the daughter of the late Claude Swanson Johnson and Audrey Mondane Walls Johnson. She was predeceased by her husband, Glen Fred Bowman; daughter, Karen Combs; and her grandson. Claudette retired as a welder for Newport News Shipbuilding. She formerly attended Pinecrest Baptist Church and faithfully read her Bible daily.

Claudette is survived by her daughter, Willetta Combs (Mark); sons, Wayne Combs (Sandi), and Kenneth Combs (Jennifer); 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Baker (Bill); brother, Carroll Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
