Clarence "Ed" Edelen, 83 of Suffolk, passed away in his home surrounded by his family, losing his battle with lung cancer on November 24, 2019. He was born in Spurlington, KY to the late Inis and George Edelen. He is also predeceased by his siblings, James Lee, Dorothy, Clara, Johnny and Jewel Dean. He served in the US Marine Corps for 2 years and US Navy for 20 years and also during the Vietnam War. Later worked and retired as a welding instructor at the Norfolk Naval Station and other jobs in the years between.

Ed is survived by his daughters, Deborah Stone (James) and Donna Phillips; son, Jim Misner (Megan); seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and siblings, Robert and Ethel.

A service will be held for Ed at 9:00 am, Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory. Military honors and inurnment will follow at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
