Obituary

After 59 years of living my best life, I joined my beloved Mother and sisters in heaven on January 10, 2024.   I was born to the most phenomenal Momma (aka my superhero) Margaret A. Donovan who preceded me in death. I know she greeted me at the pearly gates with "Bless your heart Chrissy".

My Mom taught me how to be the best parent I could to my three magnificent children who survive me: Corey Stemen; Courtney (Emory) Massie; Kyle (Kayla) Stemen.  I was honored to be your Momma - NOTHING made me prouder.  My grandchildren were the apples of my eye.  Hearing Rhylen (Roobear) Massie, Penelope (Stinkerbell) Massie and Harrison Stemen call me GaGa, and listening to Grayson Stemen giggle, filled my heart with pure joy.

I had one helluva family that I treasured with all my heart. I was the youngest Donovan sibling to my brothers Jim and Jeff and my sisters Patsy, Kathy, Jeni and Sue. My beautiful sisters Patsy and Kathy preceded me in death as did my father James and my niece Casey. I would be remiss if I did not mention my nieces and nephews: Annette Patton, Christopher (Gina) Brewer, Tricia (Scott) Luthman, Jeffrey Goedde, Shawn (Mary Jane) Blanchard, Gregory Brown, Kristin (Austynn) Edwards,  Max Moeller and Shelby Moeller. Y'all, cherish all the fun times we have had and all the memories we have made. Always raise a cold Coors Light to me … none of that fancy crap – a REAL beer and a shot of Jeiger ☺

My heart was happiest making memories with my family. I found peace and serenity hunting for seashells at Shackelford Banks and Cape Lookout, NC. I loved being outside doing just about anything. I was amused by the flutter wars of my hummingbirds, blue birds, cardinals and finches. I loved getting a fabulous pedi with Miss Terry.  I sure hope they have a great spa in heaven ☺ My devoted dog Roxarollus, was my daily alarm clock with her wake-up barks.  To my faithful Stemen Stompers, thank you for all your love and support over the years.  Keep hope alive and educate to eradicate all cancers.

I worked over 23 years in municipal government where I was fortunate to have jobs that I loved and bosses that I respected.  Helivi and Rachael you are paramount. Shout out to THE BEST work family ever – Go Buckeyes!

I lived an incredible life filled with wonder and joy. And yes, I do believe in Santa Claus (after all, if you don't believe, you don't receive) ☺ Be happy. Be forgiving. Above all else, ALWAYS be rich in love.  To my three sweet children, "Goodnight, I love you, have sweet dreams, everything I always say, I'll see you next time."  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Make a Wish Foundation.  99
