Charles "Charlie" Linwood Grubbs, 80, passed away January 2, 2023.  He was born in Portsmouth, VA the son of the late Robert Graves Grubbs and Margaret Elizabeth Lily Grubbs.  He was predeceased by his daughter, Kimberly Grubbs; and siblings, Kenny, Jennie, and Shirley.  Charlie retired as a butcher for A & P Supermarket and Sam's Club.  Charlie was a Union Member of UFCW Local #400.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 34 years, Trennie Allman Grubbs; children, Keith Grubbs (Ellie), Kevin Grubbs (Tabatha), Stacie Cobb (Ray), and Sherri Swinney (Eric); 14 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brother, Bobby Grubbs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 237 N. Main Street, Suffolk, VA 23434 with Pastor Thurman Hayes and Pastor Eric Swinney officiating.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service from 10 - 11 a.m. at the church.  Burial will be private at Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to the Gideons International.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
