Charles Dyer Hix, 78, passed away December 19, 2018.  He was born in Pulaski, VA the son of the late Thurman Dyer Hix and Willie Kate Ashbrooke Shafer.  Charles was a United States Air Force veteran.  He later went on to work and retire as a transportation supervisor for Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

Charles is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol Frances Story Hix; 5 children; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Humane Society of your choice.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
