Charles Nelson Fravel II, a beloved brother and uncle, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, in Chesapeake, Virginia, at the age of 70. Born on May 25, 1955, in Nansemond County, Virginia, Charles spent his life as a devoted family member and a hardworking individual.
Charles worked diligently as a stocker at Goodwill, where he was known for his reliability and commitment to his duties. In his leisure time, he found great joy in watching "Walker Texas Ranger" and had a particular fondness for movies, especially westerns, which transported him to different times and places.
He is preceded in death by his father, Otis Aldine Fravel; mother, Rosa Irene Clary Cook; stepfather, Roger Lee Cook; sisters, Cindy Moegenberg, Audrey Chipman, Rosa Lee Gardner, and Elizabeth Braford and her husband, Paul; and brothers, Paul and Robert Fravel. His family, though marked by loss, was an essential part of his life.
Charles is survived by his sister, Kathy Ramage; brothers, Donald Fravel and his wife, Polly, and Ronald Fravel and his wife, Jenny. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will fondly remember their uncle's gentle spirit and kind heart.
A graveside service to honor Charles's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Holly Lawn Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia. Rev. Tim Rawls will officiate the ceremony. Charles will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and his memory will be cherished forever.
