Charles "Jimmy" James Cottle, Jr., aged 60, passed away on April 25, 2025. Born in Suffolk, VA, he was the beloved son of Judith "Judy" Byrd Beck and the late Charles James Cottle, Sr. Many remember Jimmy as the voice they heard when calling Mike Duman's or Barton Ford, as he worked as a telephone operator for both dealerships. Jimmy was a cherished member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and held leadership roles as a past President of Holland Hunt Club and an Honorary Member of Box Elder Hunt Club.

He is survived by his loving mother, Judith "Judy" Byrd Beck, and his sister, Paula Smith, along with her husband Kenny. He leaves behind his nieces, Krystal Reid and her husband John, Brooke Smith, and Kasey Butler and her husband Chris. Jimmy was also a proud great uncle to Cooper and Rhyan, and he will be fondly remembered by numerous cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church, located at 1637 Holland Road, Suffolk, VA 23434, with Pastor Ricky Garza officiating. Following the service, burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Western Branch Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, VA 23434. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church.
