"Charlie" Reid

Charles Edward Reid, 78, passed away the 22nd of June, 2024. He was a retired and decorated United States Navy CPO veteran, who proudly served for 20 years. The USS Eisenhower was his last naval duty station. Known as "Charlie" to friends and loved ones, he moved to Suffolk, Virginia in 1981 and worked for Raytheon for 21 years before owning and operating his own business, King's Fork Lock and Key for 10 years. He was born in Clinton, South Carolina and joined the US Navy when he was seventeen years old. He was married to his loving and devoted wife, NancyLee Homberg for 57 years. Together they had a beautiful daughter, Kimberly Reid Dungee. Charlie spent his days doing the things he loved most, especially riding his bicycle. He had many friends and family members who loved him dearly.
He is survived by his wife, NancyLee; daughter, Kim; son in law, Darin; grandchildren, Joni Marie Bonney (Jamie), Jordan Lee Small, and Donald Arthur Dungee; and great granddaughter, Halo Angelisa Small.
A private ceremony will be held at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family has requested no flowers, but donations to a favorite charity in honor of Charlie can be made.
