Challis Tazewell Brinkley, 60,of Windsor, Virginia passed away July 30, 2006. He was a native of Nansemond County, VA and retired after 39 years as a Maintenance Technician for Sentry Services. Challis served in the United States Army and during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2582. He was the son of the late, James Willie Brinkley and Virginia Elizabeth Byrd Brinkley. He was also preceased by his wife of 27 years Marjorie "Tink" Turner Brinkley and two sisters Rosamond B. Butler and Amelia Brinkley Hedgepeth Babb. Challis is survived by his brothers, W. Timothy Brinkley and J. Oliver Brinkley, and numerous nephews and nieces.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, August 2,2006 at 10 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home with Rev. Roger D. Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Southampton Memorial Park. Friends may join the family Tuesday night from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home of Tim Brinkley, 349 Great Fork Road, Suffolk, VA.
