Carrie Judson Turner Brown, 101, formerly of Suffolk, VA passed away May 22, 2009. She was born in Isle of Wight County the daughter of the late Jesse Franklin Spivey Turner and James Henry Turner. She was also predeceased by her husband of 27 years, Clyde Marshall Brown, Sr.; sons Clyde Marshall Brown, Jr. and James Linwood Brown, Sr.; sisters, Ethel Turner Murphy and Blanche Turner McGhurman; brother, Clifton Turner. Carrie retired after 30 years as a foreman for Planters Peanuts. She worked in the Munitions Factory during WWII. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Suffolk.
Carrie is survived by her daughter-in-law, Ellen Brown of Baton Rouge, LA; grandson and wife, James L. Brown, Jr. and Jane R. Brown; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; nieces, Jean M. Savage and Janice M. Gentry; several great nieces and great nephews.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Holly Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating. Parr Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
