Carolyn Ellis Layton, 79, passed away January 23, 2021.  She was born in Richmond, VA the daughter of the late Lloyd Carroll Ellis and Ella Ruth Marshall Ellis.  She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Wendell Layton.  She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and the Life Groups Women's 70 + Sunday School Class.

Carolyn is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Janice Layton, David and Brenda Layton; grandchildren, Justin and Cameron Layton, Master Sgt. Tim Cutrell (Alicia), Krista Williams, and Leslie Walker; and 8 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held in the Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum chapel on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Fred Gray officiating.  Friends may join the family for a time of visitation with limited gathering and social distancing Wednesday night from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory.  Memorial donations may be made to the Southside Baptist Church Building Fund, 917 Carolina Rd., Suffolk, VA 23434.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
