Carl Emmanuel Harris, 89, died on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 in Windsor, VA. A native of La Grange, Georgia, he was the son of the late James Thomas Harris and Grace Elizabeth Lane and also predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Elsie Jay Harris. He served as a Captain in the Air Force and was stationed in Hawaii during the attack on Pearl Harbor. He lived in Charlotte with his wife, Elsie for many years and retired from Kaiser Aluminum as a district manager. He was President of the Southern Lions Club and received the Melvin Jones award.

He is survived by his daughter, Beth Harris of Smithfield; granddaughter, Jennifer Boykin and her husband Volpe of Carrsville; grandson Jake Bradshaw and his wife, Erika of Suffolk; great-grandson Cain Bradshaw, great-granddaughter Sadie Holloman, three sisters: Louise Dillon, Mildred Kuplen and Martha Lee McGuire; and other relatives in North Carolina.
