Calvin Eugene Self, Jr., 66, passed away March 11, 2007. He was the son of Calvin Eugene Self, Sr. and Gertie Emily Savage and a retired truck driver. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Brittany N. Merriman and a sister, Alma Cain.

He is survived by his daughters, Beverly D. Cherry of Suffolk and Doris J. Self of Chesapeake; his grandchildren, Amber L. Merriman and Travis L. Cherry; his sisters, Patricia Godwin, Carolyn S. Davis; and by his fiancée Tawana Huggins.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at 6:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home, with Rev. Tommy Reynolds officiating. A time of visitation will follow the service.
