Rev. Byron McCreary, 83, passed away on March 21, 2022. He was born in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Frances Christine Roark McCreary and Pearl McCreary. He is also predeceased by his wife, Joan H. McCreary; and a brother, William McCreary. He was a pastor for numerous churches including Community Baptist Church and Trinity Christian Church in Suffolk, VA. He also did carpentry work.

Byron is survived by his children, Barbara Johnson (John Wayne), Rebecca Williams, Jerry McCreary (Kathy), and Jeff McCreary (Nickie); grandchildren, Keith (Jessi), Scott (Shea), Kelli, Beth, Karla (Will), Jonathan (Nikki), Ryan (Becca), Jack, and Eli; great grandchildren, Jacoby, Lacey, Zoey, Nova, Peyton, Ravenna, and Raelynn.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory.  Burial will follow at Holland Cemetery.  Friends may also join the family for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.  Condolences may be registered online at parrfuneralhome.com.
