Burnell Turner Sutton, 95, affectionally known as "Memaw" passed away December 12, 2025.  Burnell was born in Franklin, VA the daughter of the late John Henry Bryant and Nellie Mae Holland Bryant. She is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Ray Randolph Turner Sr. and a sister, Johnnie Mae McClenney.

Burnell is survived by her husband of 13 years, Charles "Charlie" Edmund Sutton; her daughters Kathryn "Kathy" T. Burger (Robert), Joan A. Laychak (Robert); son, Ray Randolph "Randy" Turner, Jr., (Melody); grandchildren, Ashli, Jennifer, Courtney, Ray III, Jeremy, Shelby, Hunter; 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Burnell had many hobbies, including golf and was a member of the Suffolk Women's Golf Association having served as Past President, Vice President, and Treasurer. She was a member of Smithfield Baptist Church and retired from Central Food Services where she served on the Board of Directors and was Corporate Secretary.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel at Meadowbrook Memorial and Cremation Gardens, 4569 Shoulders Hill Road, Suffolk, Va 23435 on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Greg Gray officiating.  Entombment will follow in the mausoleum.  A time of visitation will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, Va 23434.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
