Obituary

Bruce Eugene Stone, 66, went home to our Lord June 2, 2021 while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Portsmouth, VA the son of the late Lillian L. and Benjamin F. Stone. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Pamela M. Stone; and brothers, Benjamin, Wayne, and Robert (Bobby Jack) Stone. Bruce was a very knowledgeable and well respected Project Manager in Tidewater. He was a member of the Portsmouth and Suffolk Gideon Ministry where he found joy in making sure the gospel was accessible to all. Throughout his life he was a well loved and respected coach in the little league, pony league, and high school levels, leaving a long lasting impact on many. He was an avid artist, skier, diver, football and softball player, and lived his life to the fullest.

Bruce is survived by his loving and committed companion, Georgia Phillips; daughter and son-in-law, Caitlin and Garet Deuster; sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Kimberly (Kim), Casey and Danielle, Bruce (Duke) and Tiffany Stone; grandchildren, Reagan, Jackson, Kennedy, Madison, Lauren, Austin, Myah, Kristoni, Jordyn, Cailin, Austin, Jacob, Noah, Gracie, and Coen; great grandson, Parker; "the sisters", Barbara Stewart, Bonnie Hedgepeth, Beverly Woodard, Brendra Woodard, and Belinda Flemming; brothers, Elwyn (Tommy) Sweet and William (Billy) Stone.

Bruce's funeral service will be 12:00 pm, Friday, June 11, 2021 at Liberty Live Church (Harbour View), 7025 Harbour View Blvd. #115, Suffolk, VA 23435 with Dr. James P. Rushing Jr. and Pastor Jason Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. A time of visitation will be held from 5:30-8:00 pm, Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Suffolk Gideon Camp, P.O. Bruce loved his family putting them first above all but our savior, he was admired and respected by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed, but we know he is rejoicing with his wife, family and our God in heaven.
