Bruce Franklin Ruth, 89, passed away February 4, 2017. He was born in Franklin, VA the son of the late John Franklin Ruth, Jr. and Edith Ellis Scott Ruth. Bruce was predeceased by his sweetest angel and loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy "Dot" Graves Ruth and grandsons, Yance D. Ruth and Dennis F. Ruth. He was a member of Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church.  Bruce was sole owner and operator of Bruce Signs, a licensed private pilot, ROTC captain, and U.S. Navy WWII veteran.

Bruce is survived by his sons, Wayne Alan Ruth (Inga), Roy Douglas Ruth (Shelvia), William Scott Ruth (Joanie), Bruce Franklin Ruth, Jr. (Carolyn); four grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Albert G. Horton, Jr., Memorial Veterans Cemetery at 3 p.m. with Rev. Brett Carl officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday night from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr. Suffolk, VA 23434.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church, 3488 Godwin Blvd. Suffolk, VA 23434.
