Billy B. Pearce, 72, of Disputanta passed away on September 24, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Born in Burlington, NC he was the son of the late John Newton and Bertha Mae Robertson Pearce. Billy was preceded in death his wife of 39 years Gladys L. Pearce and sisters; Sarah Moore and Pauline Nealy; brothers Wayland Pearce and Junior Eddins. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and American Legion J. Thompson Wyatt Post 2.

Billy is survived by his daughter, Debbie Hughes Edwards, sons and daughters-in-law, Billy R. Pearce (JoAnna), Edward Allen Hughes, Thomas Wayne Hughes (Joy); 15 grandchildren, Sherri Schwartz (Russell), Courtney Edwards, Chasidy Hughes, A.J. Hughes, Shanna Hughes, Chelsea Hughes, Whitlee Hughes, Sean Funai, R.J. Funai, Alyssa Funai, Brandon Pearce, Mackenzie Pearce, Madison Pearce, Brendan Zanelotti, and Courtney Smith; 2 great grandchildren, Ryan Schwartz and Luca Hughes; sisters, Lois Smith, Rachel Hayes, Mae Moyer, and Janelle Meyers; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert Pearce (Jennette), and James D. Pearce (Beulah); and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran Cemetery with Rev. Rodney Jenkins officiating. Friends may join the family tonight September 26, 2016 for visitation from 6-8 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church at 22218 Dabney Mill Rd., Petersburg, VA 23803.
