Beverly Slater
Parker
August 6, 1928 – October 2, 2018
Beverly Slater Parker, 90, passed peacefully on to her eternal home with Jesus on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at her daughter's home in Ivor. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Marie F. Slater. Beverly was predeceased by her husband, George F. Parker, Jr. and son, George F. Parker III.
Beverly was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Crittenden, Virginia and fifty- two year member of the Driver Chapter 149 Order of the Eastern Star. Beverly was employed in the Chuckatuck High School cafeteria, Roses Department Store Café in Churchland and owner, with her husband, of Parker's Gulf 76 Station in Crittenden.
Through the years Beverly loved having her family together, volunteering, playing cards with her friends, traveling and was an avid reader. Friends and family learned from her to always keep a suitcase packed in the closet ready for a spontaneous adventure and make sure your hair and polished nails were ready for such as well.
She treasured being the oldest of five generations and knowing, loving, and being with each of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grands. Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Ronald L. Parker, Sharon P. White (Jim) and Anna M. Nash. Four grandchildren: Amy N. Howell (Chris), Susan P. Mathias (Larry), Catherine N. Vick (Andrew) and Raymond M. Bailey III. Nine great grandchildren: Rachel H. Jones (Jordan), Parker W. Mathias, Ashton T. Howell, Joshua H. Mathias, J. Nash Howell, Austin T. Vick, Ryann L. Howell, Logan T. Mathias, and Aaron B. Vick. Three great-great grandchildren: Kelsie, Kohen and Kennan Jones.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 5th at 11:00am at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens officiated by Pastor Donald Roberts.
