Betty Jean Clemens, 82, of Chesapeake, VA passed away in grace and peace on September 9, 2015. She was born in Rome, OH to the late Harvey and Izetta Rudolph. She was a dedicated advocate to the handicapped and worked for Sarah Bonwell Hudgins Center as a ceramic specialist to handicapped adults. She owned and operated a custom frame shop, Frame It Up.
Betty is survived by her husband of 61 years, Lt. Colonel Paul James Clemens; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl M. and Joseph Liberatore; sons and daughter-in-law, Kenneth S. and Melissa A. Clemens, and Dennis J. Clemens; grandchildren, Erin Kate DeBoer and husband, Stephen, John Michael McCormick and wife, Cynthia, Kara Grace Bonvillian and husband, John, Steven Paul Clemens, Brady Allen Winters, and Darin Earl Winters; great grandchildren, Adelynn Grace DeBoer, Kate Annabelle DeBoer, and Catherine Keating McCormick; and sisters, Mabel A. Starr, Sandra L. Rudolph, and Sharon L. Heisley.
A funeral service will be held Monday, September 14, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr. Suffolk, VA 23434 with Rev. Daniel Kerley officiating. Burial will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday evening form 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
