Betty Barrett Burton, 67, of Suffolk, VA passed away February 25, 2009. She was born in Isle of Wight County, VA the daughter of the late Ava Darden Barrett and Walter Strouse Barrett. She was also predeceased by her sister, Eunice Barrett Bounds; niece, Katie Moore; and nephew, Don Barrett. Betty retired after 19 years in administration from Autumn Care of Suffolk. She was a member of Oakland Christian Church.


Betty is survived by her husband of almost 48 years, Robert Gordon Burton; sons, Mark Allen Burton and Robert Gregory Burton all of Suffolk, VA; grandchildren, Logan Gabrielle Burton and Warren Drescher Burton both of Windsor, VA; sisters, Elsie Barrett White (Earl) of Suffolk, VA, Effie Barrett O'Berry of Suffolk, VA, Christine Barrett Rock (John) of Chesapeake, VA; brother, Walter E. Barrett of Olalla, WA; aunt, Myra D. Cobb of Newport News, VA; nieces, Terry Stephenson, Cindy King, Linda, Peggy, Audrey, and Debbie Barrett, nephews, Michael, John, and Brian Jory, Al and Tim Buppert, Rudy O'Berry, Larry Bounds, and Robert Barrett.


A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA with Rev. Mark Burns officiating. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Friday night from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
