Bessie Mizelle Bradshaw, 99 of Suffolk, VA passed away on February 28, 2011. She was born August 3, 1911 in Windsor, NC, the daughter of the late Starkey and Sarah Mizelle. Bessie was also preceded in death by an infant in childbirth; her husband, C. Oliver Bradshaw; grandson, Charles Alan Black and daughter, Virginia Dare Eure Black. She retired from the office of Dr. W. A. Seawell after 20 years. Bessie was a member of Liberty Spring Christian Church, the Ladies Bible Class, the Women's Fellowship and the Lamplighter Circle.

She is survived by her four grandchildren: Steven Black (Kathy) of IL; Jeffrey Black (Anne) of IL; Michael Black of GA; Lynne Kempa (Jeff) of GA; six great grandchildren and two great great grandsons; a sister-in-law, Mary Mizelle of VA; a son-in-law Charles Black (Margie) of GA; two step grandchildren, Marie Felton and Edith Benton of VA and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at Liberty Spring Christian Church (4214 Whaleyville Boulevard, Suffolk) Monday, March 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Allen L. Lancaster officiating.
