Bernice Mae Jones Byrum, 76, passed away May 17, 2016. She was born in Isle of Wight Co, VA and was raised by the late Gus Constant, Sr. and Hattie Beatrice Duck Jones. Bernice was predeceased by her husband of 25 years, Willie Henry Byrum, son, Gerald J. Humphrey, Jr., sister, Rose Jones Mycko and brother, Neil Jones. She retired as a waitress at The Dining Room and was a member of Suffolk's Women of the Moose.

Bernice is survived by her sons, David G. Humphrey, Michael R. Humphrey and wife, Sharon D., Johnny V. Perry and wife, Barbara; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Jones Riddick; half sister, Elaine Cutchins; half brother, Gus Constant, Jr. and wife, Vicki; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be Friday, May 20, 2016 at 5:00 pm in Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Ismael Melendez officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 7-8 pm at the funeral home. Condolences may be posted at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
