Benjamin F. Bracey "Bill Joe" age 89, son of Clyde and Gladys Grant Bracey of Windsor died as he lived, quietly on March 6, 2022.

He graduated from Windsor High, excelling at sports.  He served 4 years, USAF during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of VFW Post 4411 in Franklin.  Ben met his wife for life, Joyce Byrd, the wedding singer at Tyrone's wedding.  The FAA Academy, Oklahoma City prepared him for his 37 years with FAA.  His co-workers at Cape Charles, Richmond and Puerto Rico remember him singing "I'll Be Home for Christmas".  He never was.

Ben attended Bethlehem and Windsor Christian Church.  He loved his 3 sons, Grant, Mark and Brian.  Ben thought of Grant's wife, Angeles as an angel.  Preceding him in death: his son Brian, brothers Robert, Clyde Jr., William and Tyrone.  Sisters: Frances Gray, Leona Jones, Evelyn Scott, Betty Richardson and infant Judith.  Surviving sisters: Janice Scott, Barbara Redd and Glenda Carr.  He also has many special nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 15 ^th at Bethlehem Christian Church, 1549 Holland Road, Suffolk, VA at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at 10:00 a.m.  Rev. Rob Slingluff and Rev. Wayne Gardner will be officiating.  Reception following service.  Burial will be private.
