Benjamin "Benny" Arthur Plewes, Jr., 95, passed away July 11, 2025. Benny was born in Winston-Salem, NC the son of the late Benjamin Arthur Plewes, Sr. and Sadie Elisa Tuttle Plewes.  He was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Betty Sue Knight Plewes, son, Timothy Leland Plewes and step-son, Nathan Knight Perry.  Benny retired as an insurance salesman after 40 years of service.  He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  Benny was a member of Rivers United Church, was a former Elk and a lifetime VFW Post 2582 member. Benny worked as an attendant at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory for many years after his retirement.

Benny is survived by his sons, Steven A. Plewes (Jan), Matthew W. Plewes; stepdaughter, Charity Kaye Perry; stepsons, Troy Michael Perry, Darren Todd Perry (Donna); twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service with military honors will be held August 9, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. John Hunter officiating.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 prior to the service.  Private inurnment will be at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran's Cemetery.
