Benito E. Colon, 66, of New York passed away January 14, 2014. He was born in New York, NY to the late Zoila Martinez Colon. He was retired as a computer programmer analyst most recently working for Fordham University. He is a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam.

Benito is survived by his wife of 34 years, Berdenia Velene Colon; daughters, Venessa Bivins, Velene Gallagher, and Kimberly Ambert; son, Robert Colon; grandchildren, Jazmin, Antonio, Kyle, Dakota, Jaqueline, and Miracle; great grandchildren, Tristan and Catherine; sister, Sandra Maldonado; and brother, Gary Colon.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 4 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory with Father Kenneth Wood officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com
