Beatrice DeJarnette Twine, 87, died October 7, 2006. A native of Halifax County, Virginia. Beatrice retired as a sales clerk for the Town and Country store. She was the widow of Ray D. Twine and a member of the Bethlehem Christian Church.
Beatrice was the daughter of the late Blanche Glass and Richard Preston DeJarnette. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Jennings B. and Alex T. DeJarnette.
Survivors include sisters and brother-in-law, Mildred D. Piland, Barbara D. and Cotton Holland, all of Suffolk; brothers and sisters-in-law, Waverly and Louise DeJarnette of Halifax County, Va., Franklin and Anita DeJarnette of Suffolk, Shirley Murray of Richmond; a very devoted sister-in-law, Catherine DeJarnette of Suffolk; many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
Friends may join the family Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Barbara and Cotton Holland, 1641 Ronald Drive, Suffolk. A funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home by the Rev. Jonathan Palmer. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
