Barbara Faye McClenny Babb, known to most as Fayecat, passed away on January 3, 2026, in Suffolk, Virginia. She was 80 years old.

Faye was born on August 30, 1945, in Nansemond County, Virginia, to Lonnie Gurvis McClenny and Lessie Mae Copeland. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Charlotte Marie Jernigan, and her brother-in-law, Roy Rogers Jernigan.

Faye was a lifelong resident of Buckhorn, Virginia, and was the self-proclaimed Mayor of Buckhorn. She knew a lot of people, and if she didn't know you, she did when she walked away. Faye never met a stranger. She would often call and visit her friends and family, sometimes just to say hello. She worked many years at Franklin Equipment and numerous other small jobs before retiring. Faye was a longtime member of Suffolk Moose Lodge 141 and Women of the Moose Chapter 1315, where she enjoyed many good times on the dance floor and being with her friends.

Faye is survived by her brother and wife, Buddy McClenny (Wanda); nine nieces and nephews,  several great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, a whole lot of kinfolk, and friends; and most especially her niece, Teresa Richardson.

The family would like to thank Autumn Care for the care and kindness shown to Faye in her final months.

Faye was one of a kind. Some may say she was crazy, but no matter what, you loved her. Buckhorn won't be the same without her, but we know that they're having a ball in Heaven with her there.

Faye's graveside service will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Holly Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Larry Parker officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 pm, Friday, January 9, 2026, at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Suffolk Humane Society. Post condolences on parrfuneralhome.com.
