On April 27, 2025, the world lost a truly kind and loving soul with the passing of Avery David Tate, a senior at Lakeland High School. Avery's life was a testament to the power of kindness and love, and his generous heart touched everyone he encountered.

From a young age, Avery had a remarkable ability to make others feel seen, appreciated, and loved. His warm smile and welcoming hug were a comfort to many, and his forgiving nature was a beacon of hope for those around him. Avery's devotion to his family and friends was unwavering, and he cherished his time with them above all else.

At Lakeland High, Avery was known for his friendly demeanor and ability to make friends effortlessly. He dabbled in various activities, including the cross country team, soccer team, and robotics, but it was at CCAP that Avery truly found his calling. There, he discovered his passion for diesel mechanics, and he thrived during his internships at SPS bus garage and Diesel Unlimited.

A lover of music, movies, and nature, Avery had a zest for life that was infectious. He believed in sharing his kindness and love with everyone he met, and his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Avery is survived by his loving family; mother, Jennifer Tate; father, Vernoy Tate; brother, Austin Tate; grandmothers, Sharyn Hughes and Rhonda Tate; aunts, Lisa Cook (Michael), Lori Simpson (Michael), and Patricia Tate; cousins, Ashley Shea, Matthew Cook, Jacob Hughes, and Megan Simpson; and countless friends who will miss him dearly. He is predeceased by his grandfathers, Larry Hughes and Vernoy Tate Jr. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact of his kindness and love will continue to resonate in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
