Audrey Britt Hunnicutt, 77, went home to be with her Lord and Savior after battling pancreatic cancer. Born January 4, 1933 in Southampton County to Sherlock Holmes Britt and Claira Virginia Britt. She was predeceased by her husband, James Thomas Hunnicutt, Sr. and her son, Joe Hunnicutt, Sr; two sisters, Doris Boyd and Carol Dizern; brother, Billy Britt. She retired from the Suffolk Public Schools as a bus driver after 40 years.

She is survived by her son, Jim Hunnicutt and special daughter in law, Virginia. She has seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren; sister, Irene Rose (Bob) from SC; two brothers, Wayne Britt (Elaine), Robert Britt (Ida) from NC; sisters-in-law, Helen Hunnicutt of Driver and Doris Ellis of Smithfield; and her special dog, Precious.

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 25, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA with Pastor Matt Kidd officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family Sunday night from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at her residence.
