Arthur "Art" Lynwood Williamson of Halifax, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022 at the age of 81. He was born in Halifax County on December 6, 1940 to the late Charlie & Shirley Wilkins Williamson. He is survived by his wife, Irene Matthews Williamson.

Art was a retired Sergeant from Virginia State Police, having served for 31 years as a state trooper in Suffolk and Chesapeake. He also served his country in the U.S. Army. Art enjoyed reading and playing golf.

In addition to his wife of 48 years, Irene, he is survived by a brother, Odell Williamson of Halifax and a step son, Leslie Welch of Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patricia Williamson.

Art's memorial service will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Danny Matthews officiating. In lieu of flowers, donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
