Annie Elliott Nurney, 89, passed away August 26, 2016. She was born in Hertford County, NC the daughter of the late John Henry Elliott and Manie Liverman Elliott. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, John David Nurney, Sr. She was a member of Central Hill Baptist Church and the Philathia Sunday School Class.

Annie is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and Billy Cofer, Sue and Diney Wells, Brenda and Mark McDonald; son and daughter-in-law, John D. Nurney, Jr. and Teresa Nurney; grandchildren and their spouses, Teresa L. Girard (Mark), William Cofer, Jr. (Shelley), Heather Copeland (Chris), John D. Nurney, III (Candice), J. B. Wells (Amy), Cole McDonald, Mindy Mandall (Justin); 6 great grandchildren, Brandie Girard, Emma, Will, and Anna Cofer, Christina Copeland, and Ellie Mandall; sister, Sarah Leigh Britt; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Monday, August 29, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Central Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends will have a chance for further time of fellowship following the service in the church fellowship hall.
