Annie Mary Brinkley, 97, of Newport News, VA passed away June 4, 2014. She was born in Gates County, NC to the late Robert Renselear Howell and Mary Frances Lilley Howell. She was also predeceased by her husband, Cleveland Grover Brinkley, Jr., and brothers and sisters, Myrtie Mae King, Jack Howell, Rosalene Wilson, Lilley Spencer, and Tom Howell. Annie worked as a sales clerk for Miller and Rhoads, and Leggetts for over 30 years. She was a member of Cypress Chapel Christian Church and Berea Christian Church.

Annie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca B. and Mike White; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald T. and Ann V. Brinkley; grandchildren, David White and wife, Robin, and Cindy Martin; great granddaughter, Jillian White; and sisters, Alease Neblett, Frances Crusenberry, and Margaret Rountree.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA 23434 with Dr. Donald Ray Jones officiating.
