Annie Barnes Briggs, 85, of Suffolk, VA passed away August 31, 2016. She was born in Ahoskie, NC. Annie is also predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Haywood Woodard Briggs. She worked for 35 years at Lipton Tea. She was a member of Suffolk Christian Church and the Quarter Century Club at Lipton Tea.

Annie is survived by her son, Joseph "Joey" Haywood Briggs and wife, Pam; grandsons, Alex Scott and Adam Briggs; brother-in-law, Herbert Briggs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Suffolk Christian Church with Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating. Burial will be prior to the service at 10 a.m. at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory.
