Anne Elizabeth Piland Wright, age 80, passed away July 19, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Nansemond Co., VA to the late Isaac and Gladys Piland. Anne is predeceased by her brothers Joe and Tom Piland, sisters Martha Bell and Sue Hancock and grandson Christopher Fitzwater. Gardening was Anne's passion and she loved baseball and fishing. Anne loved her grand and great grandchildren very much.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, H.J. "Jackie" Wright; daughter, Debbie Spratley; step-daughter, Louann Wright; son, Isaac "Randy" Duke (Marie); brother, Frank Piland (Barbara); sister-in-law, Trudy Piland; granddaughters, Elizabeth Land (Tommy), Miranda Duke (Stephen); grandsons, Gilbert Fitzwater III (Christy), Jason Duke (Carlin), Cory Duke; granddaughter-in-law, Crystal Edwards (Seth), seven great grandchildren, many devoted nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Pete.

A funeral service will be held Friday, July 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, VA, 23434 with Rev. T. Floyd Irby, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Neck Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held, Thursday, July 21st, from 7-8 p.m. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the nurses and doctors at Compassion Hospice and the ICU and Stepdown Units at Sentara Obici Hospital.
