Peggy Anne Ayers "Nanny" Forehand, 83, of Suffolk, VA passed away March 12, 2016. She was born in Suffolk, VA to the late William Albert and Dolith Naomi Harmon Ayers. Anne was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Richard Joel Forehand, with whom she ran Forehand's Mart for over 20 years. Anne was a member of Whaleyville United Methodist Church, where she served as a children's Sunday School teacher for over 30 years; member and past president of United Methodist Women, a Member of Keenagers Senior Citizens and Liberty Spring Senior Citizens Group, former member of Whaleyville Planning Commission and Whaleyville Historical Society. Anne worked previously at the William J. Jones school library and cafeteria. Anne's love of family and the community children brought joy to her during her 20 plus years of running her daycare in her home.

Anne is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Judith Anne Forehand Delpiero (Victor), Lynn Forehand, and Kathy Nuckols Rose (Butch); grandchildren, Rick Parrish, Vicci Snelgrove, Jason Delpiero, Kristy Patton, Nikie Zuraiqi, Justin "Scooter" Cornett, Tim Delpiero, and Savannah Nuckols; 10 great grandchildren; and sister Barbara B. Nelms.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at Whaleyville United Methodist Church, 6312 Whaleyville Blvd., Suffolk, VA 23438 by the Rev. Jack Meservey, PhD, Rev. Becky Gwaltney and Pastor Burt Pearce. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr. Suffolk, VA 23434 and other times at 119 Lane St. home of Kathy and Butch Rose.
